What a wonderful place you have in Arusha. We enjoyed your hospitality and delicious food! Greetings Niek and Elske
Cecile was very welcoming and chatty, Marley was friendly and an amazing cook! We requested dinner in the evening (which I would strongly recommend) and it was super tasty and they kindly catered for dietary needs (pescatarian). The breakfast was plentiful too, fresh fruit, bread with condemnation, hot drinks and we chose to have a spaniel omelette. The bed was comfy and the shower was powerful (ideal post safari dust). The garden is peaceful with plenty of seating areas to relax. We spent most of the following day laying on the day bed reading. They also offer an in-house taxi service which is super convenient and it is a short drive to Arusha airport.
The grounds were so quiet, clean and calm. But nothing beats the sweet hospitality of Cecile and Marley. They made sure we had everything we needed and treated us like family. I didn’t want to leave! The room was beautiful with lots of space, a great shower and a huuuge bed which we loved. The doggies were such a treat too. I will definitely be returning. I miss Cecile’s energy and cooking already!
A lovely green oasis in Arusha. What a wonderful time we spent as a family (5) in Stasumo house. Really an ideal place to start a safari tour from here. The house, the beautiful garden, the lovely swimming pool and the quiet area on the outskirts of Arusha. Away from the hustle and bustle and at the same time centrally located. In the evening you can enjoy the starry sky by the campfire with a drink. But perhaps the best were the owners, Cecile and Marley. They gave us a really warm welcome from day one. Going to the market together, the delicious dinner, drinks in the garden, travel advice, stories about Tanzanian culture… etc are just a few examples. What beautiful people you are. Thank you so much for everything! We will never forget our stay with you. With warm greetings, Christian
Cecile and Marley are super nice and hospitable people. They helped with everything and Marley even took us to a local market. In the evening they had made a cozy campfire, where we all chatted over a beer. I would recommend this stay to anyone!
We had a wonderful time with our family at Marley and Cecile’s beautiful place. We stayed 3 nights but definitely would have liked to stay longer. No question was too much for them. They were always there for us. Marley even arranged a basketball game for our sons with the local school team. We made memories we will cherish forever. ❤️ We can only recommend them.
It was a very nice stay with Cecile and Marley. Marley picked us up at Arusha airport, about 30 minutes by car. And we were warmly and hospitably received by Cecile. We had a nice beer under the veranda overlooking an attractively lit garden. Our son was able to relax in the hammock. Marley even drove with us to the ATM, nice service. Further clean rooms, with in the large room even a very large bed and spacious shower. Breakfast was delicious, even Dutch sprinkles 😉 and delicious avocado from their own garden.
Beautiful house with lovely garden and pool. Cozy and very helpful people. Fine location, outside the busy center, where you can relax. You can also do a safari with them. We had already arranged those. Delicious food and not expensive. Good breakfast! Delicious avocados from their own garden, lots of fresh fruit and eggs on request. In short, everything perfectly arranged!
Cecile and Marley are great hosts, and helped us get around Arusha. Homey atmosphere. Would recommend.
Beautiful cozy oasis in busy Arusha! Don’t be discouraged by the bad access road, because a little paradise awaits behind the gate! Cecile and Marley are very hospitable. The rooms are spacious and it feels a little like home.
We ate a delicious pilau, prepared entirely by Marley. We had some questions about our self drive safari and both Cecile and Marley have been fantastically helpful and advised us. If you need to stay in Arusha this is the place to be!
Everything was great! Excellent dinner and breakfast. Cecile and Marly are such great hosts, very polite which made you feel more than welcome. Great pool/bar and relaxing outdoor area. The cute dog Kilimanjaro made it even better. Thank you! We will come back.
Cecile, Marley and Isaiah were absolutely amazing with us! They treated us like family since day 1 and definitely we willl bring nice memories from this stay! We had also really good homemade breakfasts and dinners! The dogs kilimanjaro and Musungo were also really friendly and fun to be around! After our safari, it was very good to chill in their pool while having a drink in their garden! This is a great accomodation if you want to get to know Arusha and start or finish your safari.
The whole experience was great, from the pickup at the airport, to the breakfast, the relaxness of the people who work there (Michael, Marley and Cecile ( I could just talk Dutch in the heart of Arusha!), Kili and mzungu (2 dogs of the house, the hospitality, no question too much, the rooms, nice shower, garden and pool! Highly recommended for anyone who wants a well cared for, relaxed, affordable, private stay in Arusha!
We started our journey with Cecile and Marley and stayed here for 4 nights. From the beginning we felt more than welcome. A beautiful house with beautiful garden and lovely swing bed, sitting area and pool. Everything in the same style with beautiful accessories. Breakfast and dinner were delicious! They were tremendously helpful and nothing was too much to ask. Also nice that Arusha is a great place to go from here to e.g. Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro, Manyara or the hot springs of Moshi. And also these trips can be booked through Stasumo by Cecile and Marley, ideal. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and laughed insanely much! Therefore, exhausted after an 8-day safari, we settled here again for 2 nights. This guesthouse is highly recommended. Cecile and Marley, thanks for the kind care and cozy time with you xx
We loved our time at Stasumo house, and having stayed there prior to our safari, we couldn’t wait to get back. My daughter adored the place and was best friends with the dogs. Isaiah looked after us so well and he was a pleasure to sit next to in the evenings at the fire pit. Amazing home cooked food and plentiful breakfasts. Thank you both.
