The Booking
  • Bookings and subsequent contracts shall be deemed to have been concluded in Arusha, Tanzania and shall be interpreted according to the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
  • The Company reserves the right to decline any booking without outlining the reasons for it.
Use of the Website

The Website allows you to access the reservation services of the lodge under the STASUMO Safaris & Lodge Limited

The Website also provides marketing and promotional information about products, services and activities on offer by STASUMO Safaris & Lodge Limited.

The Website and its content are made available for your personal, non-commercial use.  The Website should not be used for unlawful, immoral or illegal purposes or for any purpose other than those stated in the Terms and Conditions.

The Company reserves the right to deny access to the Website to any user who violates the Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy, the Cookies Policy or at its sole discretion.

You must not engage in any conduct or do anything that would damage, impair or interfere with the operation or security of the Website, the system hosting the Website, or any of our computer systems.

You must be of sufficient legal age and capacity to make reservations for rooms, restaurants or spa services through the Website.  If you are a child or minor, you may only use the Website and services available on the Website with the permission of your parent or guardian.

Intellectual Property

The Website contains proprietary information, content and materials, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, photographs, videos, music, sound, icons, logos, designs, trade names, trade secrets, patents, trademarks, software codes and technologies (“Content”), that is owned by STASUMO Safaris & Lodge Limited and/or third parties and is protected by applicable intellectual property and other laws, including but not limited to copyright. No licence is granted in respect of those intellectual property rights. Your use of the Website does not grant, transfer to or confer upon you any right, title or interest in the Content.

You agree that you will not use the Content in any way whatsoever except for use of the services available on the Website in compliance with the Terms and Conditions. The Website may only be used for personal and non-commercial purposes.  You must not print, copy, modify, publish, reproduce, distribute, re-transmit, transfer, upload, download, store, display in public, sell, licence, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Content without the prior written consent of STASUMO Safaris & Lodge Limited, save and except to the extent permitted by copyright laws and/or for the downloading and printing of the Content for personal record-keeping purposes only.

Deposit and Payment
  1. A 30% deposit is required to secure a booking. This deposit forms part of the payment for the trip and shall be offset to the total amount charged to the client/agent.

  2. If the full amount is not paid at least four (4) weeks prior to departure, the Company reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled and the deposit shall be forfeited.

  3. Clients/Agents booking within four (4) weeks of tour departure are required to pay the full amount immediately to secure the reservation.
  4. 
All bank charges are to be settled by the client or agent respectively. This includes transaction fees charged by our bank.

  5. The amount shown on the invoice is the amount that needs to reflect in our account and should bank charges have been deducted, we would have to invoice you subsequently.
Booking Amendments

For amendments of existing bookings done by the client/ agent (e.g. departure dates, air tickets, accommodation, number of participants etc) a handling fee of 50 USD per booking applies.  The handling fee will be charged in addition to the service provider fee

Room Rates

All room rates and fees are in USD. Room Rates exclude Tanzania Tourism Levy per room per night which will be charged upon guest check-out.
Rates, inclusions, and room occupancies are as stated in your confirmation and may be subject to change at any time without notice.

Visa and Passport Requirements

An entry visa is required by certain nationalities or in certain circumstances. For further assistance on visa processing, please visit https://immigration.go.tz/index.php/passports-and-travel-documents.

STASUMO Safaris & Lodge Limited is unable to accept any responsibility should a visa be refused or delayed. Please be advised that Foreign Nationals are required to travel with a valid passport which has a minimum of two blank ‘Visa’ pages next to each other, one for the visa and one for the entry stamp. Some foreign passports have blank pages at the back without the ‘Visa’ header printed. Please be advised that these pages are not acceptable for travel to Tanzania and anyone attempting to enter to Tanzania without the required pages will be returned to their country of origin.

Group Bookings

A maximum of four rooms may be booked through the website. Please ensure you provide full names for each room, otherwise the duplicate name reservation may be cancelled. Please email us for reservations of five rooms or more.

Minimum Age

There must be at least one guest of minimum 18 years of age, with a valid credit card in their name, present upon check-in. This guest must be holding the payment for the travelling party against this credit card.

Rate Changes

Please be advised that service charges, fees and taxes are subject to change at any time without prior notice and STASUMO Safaris & Lodge Limited reserves the right to introduce these in accordance with law. The prevailing tax rates at the time of stay will be charged, along with the introduction of any new fees or taxes.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

You may cancel your Trip booking at any time before departure. If you wish to cancel, STASUMO Safaris & Lodge Limited must receive notice in writing from you (which can be by e-mail). The effective date of cancellation will be the date such information is received by STASUMO Safaris & Lodge Limited. Cancellation fees will be charged as below.

The percentages shown are of the Trip Cost. In calculating these cancellation charges, STASUMO Safaris & Lodge Limited has taken into account of possible cost savings and the generation of income from other bookings which may be able to utilize cancelled services to the extent this is likely achievable.

56-29 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE:

50% of Trip Cost

28-15 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE:

75% of Trip Cost

14-0 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE:

100% of Trip Cost

NOTE:  During this time for Civid-19, this policy allows flexibility in postponing the trip. In this case, the company do not charge any additional money rather, the client shall be required to top some fund if the season for tourism in between is different i.e booking on low season and postponing to high season.

* The Company reserves the right to cancel any tour at its sole and absolute discretion, without prior notification in instances where this is unavoidable. However, in that case, the Company agrees to refund all monies already paid by the client if there is no money has been paid to the third party. This shall be the Company’s sole responsibility to the client and no claim for any damages, howsoever arising, shall accrue against the company.

Baggage
  1. At any time, all baggage and personal effects are at the client’s responsibility and the Company does not accept any liability for any loss or damage of any personal effects, howsoever arising.
  2. Clients are entitled to one bag of not more than 15 kg in-case of domestic flights (backpack or soft bag – no hardtop suitcase) and a day pack. The Company reserves the right to refuse excess baggage. Please notice that on our tours and on some “bush” flights other baggage regulations may apply.
Risk
  1. The client accepts that all tours are of an adventurous nature and involve an element of personal risk. Neither the Company nor any of its agents can be held liable in any way for any injury, loss of life or damage to property, howsoever caused. The client hereby indemnifies the Company and will hold the Company, its agent, assigns and servants harmless from any such claim.
  2. The client accepts full responsibility for all risks involved.
Authority on Tour
  1. The decisions of the Company’s guide/driver on tour shall at all times be final and binding.
  2. The client must at all times comply with the laws, customs and foreign exchange regulations of all countries visited.
Marketing

The Company reserves the right to use any photographs and videos taken during tours for marketing or any other advertising material. The client hereby gives consent to use such photographs and authorizes the Company to retain the copyright for these photographs and such material.

Trip Price Changes

All our prices are based on the current national park fees and taxes. There have been ongoing talks that East African countries will be undergoing changes to tax regulations in 2020 – 2027. Should the authorities decide on increasing fees and taxes, even though they might currently not be scheduled, we would subsequently have to pass on these increases.

Force Majeure

Unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to war, mechanical breakdowns, weather, riots and other unforeseen reasons beyond the control of the Company may cause delays or alterations to the tour. The Company shall not be held liable in any way for any of these possible occurrences or any consequences, which may arise as a result of these.

Lodge Policy

By making reservations with our lodge, you agree to comply with and be bound by all house rules, regulations, disclaimers, waivers of liability, and policies as prescribed by the lodge from time to time; all reasonable directions, orders and/or instructions imposed by our Lodge; and all applicable local laws and regulations of the country where the lodge is located during your stay.

You are required to comply with the lodge rules and regulations relating to the use of any of the lodge’s facilities, equipment and services such as swimming pools, saunas and steam rooms, gymnasiums, spas, massage and beauty therapists, fitness instructors, beaches, water slides, and fitness equipment. The use of these facilities, equipment and services are entirely at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any personal injury or loss or damage to property caused to any person arising from or in connection with your use of our Lodge’s facilities, equipment and services.

For safety, security and housekeeping reasons, the Lodge reserves the right to enter a guest room at least once a day even if the “Do Not Disturb” sign is on.

Your non-compliance of any of the above will constitute a breach of the Terms and Conditions. In such an event, the Lodge reserves the right to take all necessary action, including without limitation the actions set out in “Consequences of Non-Compliance” above, requiring you to leave the Lodge with no compensation and/or seeking compensation for loss suffered by the Lodge.

Nothing contained in the Terms and Conditions shall constitute a waiver by the Lodge or shall compromise the Lodge’s rights to rely on and enforce all statutory limitations, defences and powers available to it under local laws and regulations.  

Disclaimers

All reasonable efforts have been made to ensure the accuracy of the content and materials displayed on the Website. We regularly review the Website and, where appropriate, will update pages to reflect any changes to the features, functionality and available services of this Website.
